Developmental Paragraphs
Leila - December 4th
Having returned the introductory paragraph and thesis statement, we have to develop our thesis statement into a complete essay in which should pay attention to the following points:
- Each subtopic introduce in our thesis statement should be developed into a topic sentence and then the complete paragraph by using major and minor support sentences and if nessecery by using some examples and details.
- In order to unify the developmental paragraphs we can use some distinct signals and enumerators such as the first reason, the second justification, the third explanation, etc. Or we can use some transition words such as moreover, inaddition, furthermore, besides, other hand, nevertheless, as a result, therefore, consequently, etc.
- The number of developmental paragraph can not be less than the number of subtopics. It means that we can not discuss two subtopics in one paragraph. But it is possible to discuss one subtopic in two paragraph.
- We should follow the same arrangement of our subtopics for our developmental paragraphs.
- The number of words used in the developmental paragraph may vary from one essay to another one.
